James Harrison is an American linebacker who plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers football team. In an October 5, 2008, game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Harrison was penalized for roughing the quarterback. He later spoke out about the incident, stating that it was a "ridiculous call. You don't make a call like that. Unless (the official) might have money on it."1

On the Field
After playing his college ball at Kent State University, Harrison was signed to the Steelers practice squad as an undrafted free agent in 2002. He spent the first few years of his career bouncing in and out of the practice squad until he was officially signed as a backup in 2004.
In a notable incident in the last game of the 2004 season, a Cleveland Browns fan ran on to the field and interrupted the game. Harrison grabbed him and slammed him on to the turf and held him until stadium security took him away. In Harrison's biggest game, he racked up nine tackles, three-and-a-half sacks, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and an interception against the Baltimore Ravens and November 5, 2007.
Off the Field
On March 9, 2008, he was arrested in connection with an assault on Beth Tibbott, his girlfriend. The charges were dropped on April 3, 2008.
