Jamaal Magloire is a Canadian born professional basketball player currently playing for the NBA's Miami Heat. Magloire is expected to miss a minimum of six to eight weeks during the start of the 2008 season after fracturing a bone in his left hand.¹

Jamaal Dane Magloire was born in Toronto, Canada, on May 21, 1978, and he went on to attend high school at the Eastern School of Commerce. He continued his education at the University of Kentucky. In 2000, Magloire was selected by the Charlotte Hornets with the nineteenth pick in the NBA draft.²

Magloire has played for several franchises throughout his career including: the Milwaukee Bucks, Portland Trail Blazers, New Jersey Nets, Dallas Mavericks and he was part of the franchise that changed their name from the Charlotte Hornets to the New Orleans Hornets in 2002.
