Jack Lambert

Guide Note

Jack Lambert was a middle linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1974-1984. He led the Steelers to 4 Super Bowl titles as legendary member of the Steel Curtain defense. During the famed 1976 season, he called a team meeting after a 1-4 start and declared the only way to make the playoffs was to win out the rest of the schedule. The Steelers did not lose a single game after that, allowing only 2 touchdowns in the final 9 games and forcing 5 shutouts. In 1984, he was forced to retire after a significant toe injury. He now lives a quiet life with his family in a rural town just outside of Pittsburgh.
