J.C. Romero
J.C. Romero is a pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies. Originally drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 1997, Romero played for the Angels and Red Sox before joining the Phillies as a free agent in 2007.

Suspension
Romero was suspended by Major League Baseball for 50 games to start the 2009 season after testing positive for a banned substance. Romero is calling the suspension unfair, stating that the substance he took was not on the banned list and was purchased over the counter at a nutrition store. An arbitrator ruled against Romero and accused him of negligence. Romero will lose $1.25 million in salary during his suspension.2
