Istanbul Terror Bombing
July 27, 2008: At least 15 people were killed and 154 others injured when a pair of explosions rocked a residential neighborhood of Istanbul, Turkey.1 The first, relatively small explosion originated from a telephone booth and caused minimal damage. Ten minutes later, however, a second explosion ripped through a crowd of shoppers and was heard up to a mile away.2 The bombings came the night before a scheduled court case over the legal status of the ruling Islamic AK Party.1
