Iran Earthquake
A 6.1-magnitude earthquake hit southern Iran on September 10, 2008. Initial reports said that at least three people were dead and 22 injured. The tremors reached as far as Dubai, where office buildings were shaken and people evacuated.
The quake's epicenter was 33 miles southwest of Bandar Abbas, a port city with oil installations and a refinery.1
