Iowa Exit Polls
Iowa holds a total of 7 electoral votes in the 2008 presidential race. In 2004, Iowa supported George W. Bush, but in the previous three election cycles, Democrats have taken the state. In 2008, Democrat Barack Obama appears to have a comfortable lead over John McCain.1
Early exit polls in Iowa revealed that the two most important issues to voters were the economy (62%) and the war in Iraq (10%).2
