Soon after The House passed the Bush economic stimulus package, which would entitle individuals a tax rebate of $600-$1,200, the IRS has issued a warning of identity thieves trying to attain bank account information via telephone and e-mail. Fast Facts:

1. Expected to continue through the end of the tax return season and beyond
2. Be on the lookout for proposed advance payment checks
3. Do not reveal personal or financial information
4. When accessing the IRS website do not use an email, go directly to IRS.gov
5. Questionable emails may be forwarded to phishing@irs.gov
