IPhone Best Buy
Retail chain Best Buy started selling Apple iPhones on September 7, 2008 in 970 locations across the United States. The gadget is also being sold at Best Buy Mobile retail stores.1 According to Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Muster, Apple is projected to sell at least 4.47 million iPhones this quarter; Best Buy sales may make this projection even larger.2

Radio Shack
With the news of Best Buy selling the iPhone, Radio Shack's stock fell 5 percent on August 13, 2008, to $17.39 a share.5 Radio Shack was rumored to begin selling the iPhone along with Best Buy back in July, but that deal has yet to announced.6 Colin McGranahan, analyst for Sanford Bernstein, thinks that Radio Shack may still have a chance at the iPhone: "They said nothing about exclusively or how long. Maybe Apple decides Best Buy gets it this Christmas and RadioShack gets it in January; we have no idea."5
