Trend Toward Hybrids
Hybrid and electric vehicles are popular at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show, due in part to the price of oil and gas coupled with the economic recession. In addition to financial concerns, the public is becoming more aware of the environment and the impact of fossil fuel consumptions. Whatever the reason, manufacturers like BMW, Chrysler, and Dodge are all debuting electric or gas-electric hybrid vehicles and prototypes at the Los Angeles Car Show, reflecting a public desire for fuel efficient, green automobiles.
