Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome

Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome is an extremely rare genetic disease that is characterized by accelerated aging in children. While newborns with this syndrome appear to be normal at birth, symptoms begin to present themselves between 18 to 24 months. Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome is caused by a mutation of the LMNA gene, which is believed to arise sporadically. Fast Facts:
