Attractions

The Huntsville Botanical Garden is a place to bring the whole family. It's home to the "largest seasonal butterfly house,"¹ open May through September, in the nation, as well as 110-acres of "stunning floral collections"² spread throughout paths and meadows. There are annual events and festivals³, such as the "Spring Festival of Flowers" and "Galaxy of Lights" that bring in over "200,000 visitors" to the garden each year.² There is an on-site restaurant, as well as picnic areas for those wanting to bring their own food.⁴

Museums

For a special place to bring the kids, try the EarlyWorks Children's Museum. It's the "largest hands-on"⁵ museum of history in the South and was especially designed for children. There is a "talking tree" that tells stories, "giant-sized instruments" that can be played, as well as a "Kidstruction Zone" where children are able to build and create things with their own hands.⁵ There is even a "touch-and-learn" area made just for the younger kids called "Biscuits Barnyard."⁵ EarlyWorks is open Tuesday through Saturday⁵ and admission is based on age.⁶
