How to Pay Your Taxes Online
- If you're using an online tax preparation service like TurboTax, TaxACT or H&R Block's TaxCut, you'll have the option to pay your taxes by electronic withdrawal from your bank account or via credit card at the time you file your return.
- If you are paying at a later date or have filed on paper and wish to pay online, you can submit a credit card payment through one of the IRS' e-pay service providers. As of February 2008, these providers included Official Payments Corp., PAY1040.com and IncomeTaxPayment.com.
- You will incur a convenience charge for using these services.

If You Can't Pay
- If your some reason you cannot pay your taxes in full, you should apply for an installment plan by filing Form 9465. You qualify for an IRS installment plan if you don't owe more than $25,000 and are able to pay off your bill within five years.[1]
