Introduction

• Our latest version of Mahalo Follow lets you add a Mahalo toolbar to either the Firefox or Internet Explorer web browser. You'll also be able to see Mahalo's spam-free search results in a sidebar as you surf the web. Just follow these easy instructions to get started.

Install Mahalo Follow

• Installing the toolbar is quite easy, as long as you have one of the supported browsers (Firefox or Internet Explorer). If you don't already have one of those browsers, don't worry—Firefox is a free web browser that will work on almost any computer. You can download it here.

On Firefox

• To install Mahalo Follow on Firefox:

1. Go to the Mahalo Follow install page
2. Click on "Install Mahalo Follow."
3. Firefox will ask if you want to install Mahalo Follow—click on "Install" to proceed.
4. Restart Firefox when prompted to complete installation.
5. Mahalo's sidebar results will open and you should see the Mahalo Follow toolbar in your browser: enjoy!

Troubleshooting with Firefox

• If your install didn't work, don't worry—just check these troubleshooting tips!

1. Did you see this error message?:
   • 
2. If so, click "Edit Options."
3. A Firefox "Allowed Sites" window will appear, with "greenhouse.mahalo.com" prefilled in the input.
4. Click "Allow."
5. Then click "OK."
6. Click on "Install Mahalo Follow" once more.
7. Firefox will ask if you want to install Mahalo Follow—click on "Install" to proceed.
8. Restart Firefox when prompted to complete installation.

On Internet Explorer

• Mahalo Follow works with Internet Explorer version 6 and version 7.
  • Although it's not necessary to upgrade, you may wish to install Internet Explorer 7 before installing Mahalo Follow; this version's tabbed browsing integrates well with Mahalo Follow. To update your version of Internet Explorer, click here.
  • Your machine must run Windows Vista or XP; unfortunately, Mahalo Follow does not work with earlier Windows operating systems.
  • PLEASE NOTE: If you are using Windows Vista, you must be in admin mode to install Mahalo Follow.

1. Go to the Mahalo Follow install page
2. Click on "Install Mahalo Follow"
3. Save Mahalo Follow to your desktop.
4. Unlock your browser's toolbars; to do this, make sure there is not a check mark next to "Lock the Toolbars" in the Toolbars menu.
   • 
5. Go to your desktop and double click on the Mahalo Follow install file.
   • Users with Windows Vista, remember to make sure you're in admin mode!
6. Click "Next" to run the Install Wizard.
7. Click "Next" to confirm the default location for Mahalo Follow on your computer, which is C:Program Files/Mahalo/Mahalo Follow.
   • If you do not want to accept the default location, browse to select a new location.
8. Click "Next" to confirm the installation.
   • Users with Windows Vista will have to grant permission to allow Mahalo Follow to install.
9. Wait a moment as the program installs on your computer.
10. When the window says that the installation is complete, close the Install Wizard.
11. Launch Internet Explorer
12. Mahalo's sidebar results will open and you should see the Mahalo Follow toolbar in your browser.
13. Make sure to lock your toolbar again; just place a check mark next to "Lock the Toolbars" in the toolbar menu:

Troubleshooting with Internet Explorer

• If you don't see the Mahalo Follow toolbar or results in the sidebar, don't panic! Here are a few troubleshooting tips:

1. Restart your computer.
2. Launch Internet Explorer.

• If you still do not see Mahalo Follow:

1. Select the "View" menu.
2. Select "Toolbars."
3. Make sure the Mahalo Follow toolbar is turned on; there should be a check mark next to "Mahalo Toolbar" in the Toolbars menu.
4. Close the menu and check your browser window for the toolbar.
5. If it's not there, go through the steps one more time to turn on the toolbar: there should be a check mark next to "Mahalo Toolbar" in the Toolbars menu.

• If the above fixes haven't helped.:

1. Click on the "View" menu and select "Toolbars."
2. Make sure that the option "Lock the Toolbars" does not have a checkmark next to it.

3. If it does, uncheck the "Lock the Toolbars" option.
4. Now you can adjust your toolbar! Check the righthand side: there should be a box at the outer edge of your toolbar.

5. Drag the box into the toolbar, so you can see its contents.

On Safari

How to Uninstall Mahalo Follow

• If you need to uninstall Mahalo Follow, here's how:

For Firefox

1. In Firefox's "Tools" menu, select "Add-ons."
   • 
2. Mahalo Follow will appear in the list of add-ons, click once on its name.
3. Now click on the button that reads "Uninstall."
4. A box will pop up asking if you want to uninstall Mahalo Follow; click "Uninstall."
5. To complete removal of Mahalo Follow, simply restart Firefox.

For Internet Explorer

• There are two ways to remove Mahalo Follow from Internet Explorer, depending on whether or not you still have the original setup file you downloaded to install Mahalo Follow.

If You Have the Setup File

1. Run the setup file.
2. There will be two options: "Repair Mahalo Follow" or "Remove Mahalo Follow"; select "Remove Mahalo Follow."
3. Run the program.
4. Mahalo Follow is now removed from your computer.

If You Do Not Have the Setup File

1. Navigate to the "Control Panel" from the Start menu.
   • 
2. Select "Uninstall/Change Programs" (for Windows Vista), or "Add/Remove Programs" (for Windows XP).
3. Select "Mahalo Follow" from the list of programs.
4. Click on "Add/Remove" or "Uninstall/Change."
5. You will be asked if you want to remove Mahalo Follow from your computer, click "Yes."
6. Mahalo Follow is now removed from your computer.
