How to Create a Signature in Gmail

In order to save time, Gmail allows you to create a custom signature that appears on all of the emails you send out. This page gives you instructions on How to Create a Signature in Gmail.

Email Signatures

  • Similar to a signature on a regular hand-written letter, an email signature is a few lines of personalized text that tells the recipient who the message is from. Email signatures can include the senders name, contact information, and maybe even a favorite saying or quote. To save you the hassle of having to retype your signature on every email, Gmail allows you to create a custom signature that can be automatically attached to every email you send out.

How to Create an Email Signature in Gmail

  1. Click on Settings in the top right-hand corner of your screen.
  2. Scroll down to the Signature section and, in the box provided, enter in the text that you want to appear in your signature.
  3. Click on Save Changes.

Tip: To remove your signature from a specific email, simply delete it manually before sending.
