What Is Archiving?
- If you are someone who receives a large amount of emails, you may begin to notice your inbox becoming cluttered with tons of messages that you've already read and responded to. While you may not need them right now, you don't want to delete them entirely because you may need to access them later. This is where archiving can come in handy. Because of the large amount of storage space that Gmail offers, there is no need to delete any of your messages. By archiving a message, Gmail removes it from your inbox, while still keeping a copy of it for use in the future.
How to Archive a Message in Gmail
- Check the box next to each of the messages you want to archive.
- Click on the Archive button.
- If you've labeled the message, you can find it again by going to the correct Label.
- If you haven't labeled it, you can find it by clicking on the All Mail button (in the left-hand column) and searching through the folder.
