The Houston Comets are a women's professional basketball team. They compete in the Western Conference of the WNBA. They joined the league as a founding team in 1997. The Comets immediately dominated the league, winning the WNBA Championship the first four years. They have not had the same recent success however. The furthest they have reached since their dynasty years is the conference finals, which they lost in 2005.
