House Bailout Vote
The House of Representatives passed the $700 billion mortgage bailout plan on October 3, 2008, by a vote of 263 to 171. The U.S. Senate passed the bailout bill on October 1, 2008, and President Bush is expected to sign the bill imminently.1 The Senate voted on the bailout bill on October 1, 2008. The final Senate vote was 74 in favor and 25 against.2
