With recent recalls of commercial pet food, many animal lovers have begun making their own dog food. Making dog food at home allows a pet to consume more nutrients and food more specific its health conditions.1 2

How to Make Dog Food
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a large bowl mix together 1/2 cup powdered milk, 1 egg, 5 tablespoons olive oil, 1/3 cup beef broth, 2 2.5 ounce jars beef baby food and 2 teaspoons honey.
- Add in 1/2 cup rye flour, 1 cup whole wheat flour, 1/2 cup rice flour and 1/2 cup cracked wheat, to produce a dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface until the dough is uniform and smooth.
- Roll the dough to 1/2 inch thick and cut out pieces with a small glass or cookie cutter.
- Lay the cut out pieces on an ungreased baking pan and bake 22 minutes in the preheated oven.
- Allow to cool at least 30 minutes before serving.3 4
