Guide Note

Hergé is the pen name of Georges Prosper Remi, a Belgian comic book writer and illustrator most famous for his Tintin series and "ligne claire" drawing style.

Tintin made his first appearance in the pages of Le Petit Vingtieme in 1929. The strip chronicled the adventures of a young reporter named Tintin and his pet terrier Snowy. The comics grew in popularity over time, and Herge wrote Tintin adventures up until his death in 1983. His 24th Tintin adventure, Tintin and Alph-Art, was left unfinished at the time of his death.
