Swedish-born National Hockey League player Henrik Sedin plays center on the Vancouver Canucks' first line. His twin brother, Daniel Sedin, plays left wing, and throughout their lives, the brothers have played together as an effective offensive duo. Most often, Henrik Sedin is the play maker, passing the puck for brother Daniel Sedin to put in the net.

During the 2007-2008 season, Henrik Sedin set a new Canucks franchise record for most assists in a season by assisting on 71 goals and as the Canucks' top scorer for the season, he received the Cyrus H. McLean Trophy.

Sedin has represented his home country of Sweden in numerous international competitions: The World Junior Championships in 1999 and 2000 and the World Championships the same years, at which Sweden took bronze both times. Sedin competed for Sweden at the World Championships again in 2005 and then won a gold medal along with Team Sweden at the 2006 Winter Olympics.
