Hell's Kitchen 4 Week 4 Summary
- As the chef's leave the kitchen, Ramsay chastises the chefs and calls Ben a "punk." Vanessa says she feels she has a chance to turn it around, though she feels terrible after the evening's debacle.
- Shortly after midnight, Ramsay comes over the loudspeaker and commands the chefs to go back to the kitchen and clean it up. Corey talks about she doesn't get along with the other girls. Corey leaves in the middle of the clean-up process. Shayna is upset with Corey for deserting them.
- The following morning, Ramsay asks the ladies who the strongest individual is on their team. Corey puts her hand up. The rest of the women say it is Jen. Shayna tells Chef Ramsay how Corey left in the middle of the clean-up. He asks the same question to the blue team. All the men agree that Ben is the strongest. Ramsay tells the chefs they are opening that night for a special "family night" service.
- In the challenge, the chefs have to make their own pasta from scratch. The team that makes the most pasta from fresh dough in twenty minutes wins. Petrozza tries to rally the men. Ben points out that Matt was standing around not doing anything. Both teams hang the pasta over their teammates' shoulders. Craig had a problem feeding the pasta into the machine and is criticized by the men.
- After twenty minutes, Ramsay calls the challenge a "bloody good effort." He measures the pasta. The men have 5.48 lbs. The women end up with 6.57 lbs., winning the challenge. The men have to spend the entire day prepping for the night's service. The women get to go to the Santa Monica Pier in a Hummer Limousine.
- The women enjoy traveling in style to the Santa Monica Pier, drinking sparkling wine. Christina says that all the women want to toss Corey off the ferris wheel.
- The men blame Craig for the loss and they experience fatigue while preparing pasta all day. Matt makes a comment about the fat in Corey's behind. Ben volunteers for a job for sous chef Scott. He walks outside and immediately cringes at the smell of horse droppings. He has to clean up what is called "Hell's Playground," set up for the children who will be attending the evening's service.
- Just before the service, kids play with the horses and jump in the moon bounce. The women only have a little bit of time to learn the evening's menu. The menu is mostly pasta, burgers and onion rings, arguing that it should be easy to cook the food. Ben gives Craig a pep talk, which Craig balks at. Before the service, Ramsay tells the chefs it will be a "perfect service." He tells them the first team to complete the service will be the winner.
- Ramsay has a bit of comic relief with Jean-Phillipe by telling him to take his tie off and open his shirt. Jean-Phillipe prefers to keep the tie on. Ramsay berates him a bit.
- The families enter and begin to order. Vanessa begins to cook, saying she needs this win. Both sides have orders. Matt and Ben share a half-hearted "high five."
- The first onion rings make it to the pass and Ramsay complements Vanessa. Ramsay tells the men not to serve up raw chicken. Ben presents his onion rings, which Ramsay finds limp and horrible, not crispy.
- Jean-Phillipe brings some raw chicken to Ramsay's attention. He screams at Matt for making the hot wings pink and bloody. Ramsay recollects Matt's signature tartar, which made him spit up. Ramsay screams at Matt to wake up and calls him a donkey.
- The women's team has moved onto entrees when a small fire stars. Vanessa burns her hand with some hot oil and asks for ice. Vanessa runs out of the kitchen looking for help from the production staff.
- Vanessa leaves Hell's Kitchen and gets driven off in a van to the hospital. Ramsay tells the rest of the women to get a grip. The ladies continue to send food to the diners. At 8:00 PM, both teams are about neck and neck in terms of customers served.
- Ramsay yells at Matt for serving small and hard burgers that resemble "hockey pucks." Jen takes the lead in the red kitchen and starts to count down the tables remaining. Bobby emerges as a leader in the blue kitchen. Ben congratulates Bobby on a job well done and Ramsay yells at him for being too jolly. Ramsay then yells at Craig for presenting spaghetti with meatballs instead of with clams. Craig presents a spaghetti with clams, which Ramsay tastes. He screams at Craig for being raw.
- The women finish their meals first and win. Ramsay criticizes Ben for acting too happy too soon. The women help the men finish. Craig takes too long preparing his clams, but they do complete the service. Ramsay praises Jen and calls her the best cook in both kitchens. He tells the men their performance was embarrassing. Ramsay says he is surprised at Ben's incompetence. He calls Bobby the best of the worst and asks him for two nominees for elimination.
- Vanessa returns to the dorm with her hand wrapped up. Craig and Ben discuss the night's failures and whose fault it is. Ben tries to convince Bobby not to nominate him. Bobby says that Ben always seems to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.
- Back in the kitchen, Bobby nominates Craig for being a "broken compass" in the kitchen. His second nominee is Matt for being too nervous while working in the kitchen. Ramsay says there is one more person he needs to hear from, "and he knows who he is." Ben steps forward.
- Ramsay says he is seriously disappointed Ben and asks him why he should stay. Ben says the embarrassments will only make him work harder. Craig says he should stay because his pride, determination or motivation. Matt says he has changed since he arrived in Hell's Kitchen and wants to prove himself to Ramsay. Ben says he'll give 100%. Matt says he'll give 125%. Craig says he doesn't know what percentage he'll give, but "over that."
- Ramsay sends home Craig. Craig thanks Ramsay. Ramsay says "thank you for giving me one big f***ing headache." Ramsay looks at Ben and Matt and says that they are both barely alive in the game. Ramsay welcomes Vanessa back and tells Jen not to stop performing well. Ramsay says Craig was a bad cook with a bad attitude.
