Heidi Murkoff

Guide Note: Heidi Murkoff is an American author most known for her What to Expect books. The 4th edition of What to Expect When You're Expecting was released in 2008 with many updates from the 3rd edition released in 2002.

Murkoff co-wrote the book, What to Expect When You're Expecting with doctors, Arlene Eisenberg and Sandee Hathaway. Almost 14 million copies have been sold since it was first printed.

She has also written What to Expect the First Year, What to Expect the Toddler Years, the What to Expect Pregnancy Organizer, the What to Expect Pregnancy Planner, the What to Expect Babysitter's Handbook and What to Expect: Eating Well When You're Expecting. In addition, she has also written What to Expect books for children to help them deal with the impending birth of a new member of their family.

In addition to writing books Murkoff is the senior contributing editor and columnist for Baby Talk and Parenting magazines. The also appears on a regular basis on CNN, Today and Good Morning America.

Heidi Murkoff founded The What to Expect Foundation which provides prenatal educational materials and literacy training to low-income mothers in hopes of preventing infant mortality and illiteracy.
