Heather O'Reilly
American soccer player Heather O'Reilly won a gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics. On August 21, 2008, O'Reilly and her teammates defeated Brazil in the final round to capture the gold medal at the Summer Olympics in Beijing.1

Soccer Career
O'Reilly joined the U.S women's national soccer team while still in high school in 2002. She helped the team win the Under-19 World Soccer Championships, which was the first win for the U.S. youth team. O'Reilly played in college for the University of North Carolina and led the team to NCAA Championships in 2003 and 2006. During her final year at North Carolina in 2007, O'Reilly was selected for the NCAA Honda-Broderick Award, as the top collegiate soccer player in the United States.
