Harry Lee

Harry Lee was the 30th sheriff of Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, from 1979 until his death in 2007. He was re-elected six times, serving a total of twenty-seven and a half years.

Death

Lee was diagnosed with leukemia in April of 2007. On June 2, it was reported that his cancer was in remission. However, on August 16, it was announced that the cancer had returned. On September 30, Lee was hospitalized at Ochsner Medical Center with complications stemming from the leukemia. He later passed away on October 1, 2007.
