Harrisburg, PA
Harrisburg, PA is the state capital of and the 4th largest city in Pennsylvania. It is located along the Susquehanna River in Dauphin County and is about 100 miles away from Philadelphia. Harrisburg was incorporated in 1791 and it was officially named Pennsylvania's capital in 1812. During the Industrial Revolution Harrisburg played an active role in manufacturing and served as an active railroad hub. In 1979 Harrisburg was evacuated by Governor Dick Thornburgh when one of the reactors at nearby Three Mile Island went through a partial meltdown. Harrisburg is home to the Pennsylvania Farm Show, the largest indoor farming expo in the U.S.
