Marriage and Divorce
Hans met Nina Reiser in 1998 while he was working in Russia.1 Nina was an OB/GYN. Nina and Hans married and later had two children. In May 2004 they were separated. Nina filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences. In December of 2004, Nina obtained a temporary restraining order after Reiser allegedly abused her.2 When Nina went missing, the two were still legally married.
Wife's Disappearance
Nina was reported missing on September 3, 2006. Her car was found with groceries inside and she failed to pick up the children at school. Upon investigation, police found evidence that linked Reiser to the disappearance of Nina. Reiser was arrested for the murder of Nina Reiser on October 10, 2006.
