Hanley Ramirez

Ramirez originally signed as an undrafted amateur free agent on July 2, 2000 with the Boston Red Sox. He was assigned to the Red Sox minor league affiliate in 2002. After three years of impressive play, Ramirez made his MLB debut on September 20, 2005. Two games and two months later Ramirez was traded to the Florida Marlins on November 24, 2005.

After impressive play during the 2006 Spring Training, Ramirez earned a roster spot with the Marlins, playing in 158 games that year. He was also selected as the 2006 National League Rookie of the Year. 2007 was equally successful for Ramirez, playing in 154 games with the Marlins. He was voted 10th for the National League Most Valuable Player. After the season, Ramirez had surgery to repair an injured left shoulder. His recovery in the off season went well and he joined the starting roster for the Marlins for the 2008 regular season. Fast Facts:
