Hampton Inn is a chain of mid-range hotels originally owned by Promus Hotel Corporation of Memphis, Tennessee. Their name is now trademarked by Hilton Hotels Corporation. As president of the Hampton Inn brand, Raymond E. Schultz created the 100% satisfaction guarantee policy, agreeing to refund all payment if a stay is not satisfactory.1

Hampton Inns provide in-room movie channels, USA Today on weekdays, high-speed internet connections in each room and public areas, hot breakfasts, as well as "On the Run Breakfast Bags."7 Hilton put $100 million into the "Make it Hampton" program, which included the Cloud Nine bed program, promoting added sleeping comfort.8 The Cloud Nine bed program was such a success they began marketing and selling the same beds used in their hotel rooms.9
