Gregor Tait
Scottish swimmer Gregor Tait competed in swimming events at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece, and the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China.1
Out of the pool, Tait appeared nude in an August 2008 advertisement for Powerade.2

Swimming Career
Tait's first major competition was the 1998 Commonwealth Games, in which he swam in the 100- and 200-meter backstroke and the 4 x 100-meter medley relay, placing 14th, 13th and seventh respectively. He competed at the 2001 European Short Course Championships, in which he won a bronze medal in the 100-meter backstroke and a silver medal in the 4 x 50-meter medley relay. Tait returned to the Commonwealth Games in 2002 and won a silver medal in the 200-meter backstroke. He made his first appearance at the Olympics in 2004, placing 12th in the 100-meter backstroke, seventh in the 200-meter backstroke and eighth in the 4 x 100-meter medley relay.1
At the 2006 Commonwealth Games, Tait won medals in each of the four events he entered. He took home gold in the 200-meter backstroke and the 200-meter individual medley, as well as bronze in the 100-meter backstroke and the 4 x 100-meter medley relay. Tait returned to the Olympics in 2008 and placed eighth in the 200-meter backstroke. He also competed in the 100-meter backstroke event, but failed to qualify for the finals.1 Because of his poor performance at the Summer Olympics, Tait has mentioned he may quit swimming the backstroke and take up freestyle sprints, but has not made a final decision.3
