Green Day
Green Day is a Bay-Area based Punk Rock trio that shot to fame in the early 1990s and helped to re-popularize the genre. Emerging from the Punk scene that centered around the 924 Gilman Street club in Berkeley, California, their debut album Dookie was released in 1994 and went on to sell over 10 million albums on the strength of hit songs such as "Basket Case", "Longview" and "When I Come Around." After a period of middling success, the band re-emerged in 2004 with their critically praised and commercially successful concept album American Idiot - which went on to win the Grammy for "Best Rock Album".
