According to the official Rockstar website, Grand Theft Auto IV will feature, at the minimum, eighteen different radio stations. Reports from varying sources, including PlayStation Magazine, however, indicate that there are actually nineteen. Whether the Xbox 360 version also features the same amount has yet to be confirmed. Rockstar and Amazon have also struck a deal that will allow players who join the Social Club to mark any song that they are interested in purchasing via the in-game cell phone. Upon visiting the community website, they will find an e-mail linking to a custom Amazon playlist with all of the music that was previously chosen. Individual downloads are expected to cost between $0.89-$0.99.

Grand Theft Auto IV is the ninth title in the long-running Grand Theft Auto series. Set in a redesigned Liberty City, based on four of the boroughs of New York City and parts of New Jersey, the total area of the map is smaller than San Andreas. While smaller, the newly designed Liberty City is far more detailed and the largest individual city in the Grand Theft Auto series. The game tells the story of Niko Bellic, an Eastern European immigrant who immigrates to Liberty City to live "the American Dream" at the urging of his cousin Roman.
