Gorton's Fish Fillet Recall

February 29, 2008: Gorton's Seafood voluntarily recalled a frozen seafood product - 6 Crispy Battered Fish Fillets - with a specific date code when a customer claimed to have discovered pills inside the fish product. Tracy Rowan and her daughter, of New Freedom, claim that they found pills in their mouths as they ate the fish products. They were examined and found not to be harmed. Gorton's say the pills were tested and found to be herbal supplements - described as "harmless." No other reports of adulteration with pills have been reported.

• Taken from Wsbtv: Gorton's is voluntarily recalling specific 11.4 oz. packages of 6 Crispy Battered Fish Fillets, as they may contain foreign material. The product was distributed nationally in retail stores, primarily in the Southeast. The affected Battered Fish Fillet products have a UPC code of 44400 - 15770, a "Best if Used by Date" of April, 2009, and the following manufacturing code that is embossed on the side of the package: 7289G1
