Google 2001
Google celebrated its 10th birthday by reopening the company's 2001 search index, which features over 1.3 billion web pages and the old logo with an exclamation mark. The resurrected search engine will be available for only one month.1
According to various Internet related blogs, the 2001 version of Google provides a historical snapshot of the world wide web and its development. Some of today's most popular searches, including "Barack Obama" and "BitTorrent," yield very few to zero results in the older engine.1 2
