Plot Synopsis
Gone With the Wind follows the fortunes of Scarlett O'Hara, a Southern society woman, against the backdrop of the American Civil War.

Gone With the Wind sold over 1.3 million copies in its first year and has been translated into 40 languages.2 It received the Pulitzer Prize for Literature in 1937.
