Gluten intolerance most often appears in the form of celiac disease, which is when a person's body is sensitive to gluten, a protein found in wheat and other cereals. Having a gluten intolerance means one cannot ingest even the smallest amount of gluten without one's immune system triggering a negative reaction in one's body. The main form of treatment is to avoid ingesting gluten altogether by adhering to a gluten-free diet.
