Global Poverty Act
Guide Note: The Global Poverty Act is a bill sponsored by presidential candidate Barack Obama. The legislation would mandate the United States to spend 0.7 percent of gross national product on foreign aid, equaling about $845 billion in additional aid over the next 13 years. The House version of the bill passed in September of 2007.
