GeoEye 1
The GeoEye-1 satellite successfully sent its first image back to Earth a month after it was launched into orbit. The satellite is operated by GeoEye Inc. and will collect images for the government's National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency as well as Google. Google will be using the data to improve its map services.1
