Gears of War 2 Weapons

Gears of War 2 features multiple weapons, from large rifles to various grenade types to satellite-controlled laser strikes. In addition to several all-new weapon types, all weapons from Gears of War return in Gears of War 2, with some receiving minor tweaks.

Gears of War 2 Weapons Details

• The following weapons return from Gears of War but receive some changes:
  • - Hammerburst Rifle: Can now only fire single shots at a time, but has a quicker rate of fire and deals more damage.
  • - Boomshot: If active-reloaded with two rockets inside, the following shot will fire both.
  • - Longshot: No power bonus from active-reload.
  • - Smoke Grenades: Have a concussion blast after exploding.

• The new weapons include:
  • - Mulcher: Heavy machine gun that can overheat and slows down your character.
  • - Mortar Launcher: Long-range explosive weapon.
  • - Poison Grenade: Shoots out a poisonous purple gas.
  • - The Scorcher: Flamethrower, gains range if active-reloaded.
  • - Gorgon: Powerful pistol that fires in bursts.
  • - Shield: Use it as a shield along with a pistol, or plant it into the ground to create cover. It can, however, be kicked down by opponents.
