Gawker Layoffs
Managing editor Nick Denton of blogging media network Gawker announced that the company will be laying off 19 off their 133 editorial staff. Gawker Media manages and publishes some of the most popular blogs on the internet, including Gizmodo, Kotaku and Lifehacker. A memo from Nick Denton sent to Gawker employees said that the savings earned from the lay offs will mean increased base pay and 10 new employees hired to the most commercially successful Gawker blogs.
