Gavin and Stacey

Gavin and Stacey is a BBC sitcom starring Mathew Horne and Joanna Page. The series first aired May 2007 and began on BBC Three and later moved to BBC Two. The series has been nominated for a total of nine awards, winning five. Two of those awards include British Academy Television Awards in 2008.

The Story

The series focuses on Gavin and Stacey Shipman and their relationship. The first season focuses a lot more on their developing relationship which occurs over the telephone. They meet face-to-face and immediately connect. Both wonder if they will last when their friends and family become involved. Both Gavin and Stacey come from different worlds. Gavin is from Billericay, Essex, England and Stacey is from Barry, South Wales.

American Remake

NBC in the United States will soon have its own version of Gavin and Stacey. It will have the same type of storyline except characters will live in the United States versus England. Specifically Gavin is from New Jersey and Stacey from South Carolina. Further details are unknown at this time.
