Final Four

Guide Note: The Final Four is the annual conclusion to college basketball's NCAA Tournament, where the four regional winners compete for the national title.
The tournament format begins with 65 teams. The two lowest-seeded teams compete in the Play-in Game. Once the top 64 is established, a team must win four consecutive games to reach the Final Four.
The Men's Final Four has historically been dominated by the UCLA Bruins and the North Carolina Tar Heels, with UCLA holding the records for most championships, Final Four apperances, Final Four Wins, and consecutive Final Four appearances.
Despite some schools having historically dominant programs, several lower-seeded teams have managed to make the Final Four and garner significant underdog followings, including George Mason in 2006, Villanova in 1985, and NC State in 1983.
