2008 Tour de France
Figeac has been a stage host for the Tour de France bicycle race in 1978, 2004 and as the starting point of the eighth stage in 2008. The latter path, which ends in Toulouse, spans about 107 miles (172.5 kilometers).2 The route, which contains many small hills but no major climbs, is known as a "transitional" stage, as it falls between two stages with larger inclines.3
