Guide Note: Felony Fights is an underground production studio that stages Mixed Martial Arts fights, but without the safety regulations that have been adopted by tournaments like Ultimate Fighting Championship. Many of the participants in Felony Fights are ex-convicts and the rules can allow for fish-hooking (tearing the cheek of the opponent), biting, use of weapons and the infliction of permanent damage.

In a March, 2008 article for the New York Times Magazine, Felony Fights founder Michael Lynch said that the company makes itself immune to legal restrictions by staging fights outside the US and not paying its fighters. However, in the same article, MMA fighter Shad Smith recalled being paid $800 for his appearance in the Felony Fights 3 DVD. Felony Fights productions:
