Fame is a remake of the 1980 film of the same name. The film will be directed by Kevin Tancharoen and has an expected release date of December 2009. The cast has not been announced as of yet.

The story of Fame focuses on a group of teenagers in a New York High School of Performing Arts. The film follows them throughout their education at the school. . This film is a bit different from similar films because the darker sides of these teens’ lives are explored. Issues such as drug issues and teen pregnancy are among some of the issues exposed.
