Exeter Bomb 2008
On May 22, 2008, a bomb blast in Exeter caused the evacuation of a large area of the city center, as well as the deployment of the Royal Navy bomb disposal team.
Nicky Reilly, age 22, was injured and later arrested in connection with the bombing. The man suffered injuries to his eye as well as facial burns. No one else was injured, despite the fact that the shopping center was crowded.
Scotland Yard also sent officers to the scene from the counter-terrorism command. Forensics experts are included in the group who can help determine the cause of the explosion.
Other reports surfaced throughout the afternoon of additional explosions and bombs. However, all of these reports proved to be false.

Police sources have indicated that the suspect in the bombing is a recent convert to Islam. No motive for the attack has been established.
