History
Evian water became popular in 1790 after a nobleman who had suffered from kidney and liver problems claimed that drinking the water improved his health.1 The water now comes from several springs located near Évian-les-Bains, on the south shore of Lake Geneva. The company claims that the water spends 15 years traveling through the French Alps mineral aquifer before being extracted for bottling.3
