Aviles admitted that hospital procedure was not followed by security guards, nurses and other staff on the ward. Aviles then appointed Ann Sullivan as the interim administrator for the hospital. He also announced the following changes in King's hospital; the addition of new staff, expansion of crisis prevention training to most workers and a mandate that psychiatric ward patients should be checked at least every 15 minutes.4
