Eric Munson

Early Years Munson was originally drafted on June 4, 1996 by the Atlanta Braves, but did not sign. He instead attended and played for the University of Southern California. He was drafted again in 1999, this time signing with the Detroit Tigers on June 24, 1999. Detroit Tigers After a year with the Tigers minor league affiliates, Munson was called up to make his MLB debut with the Tigers on July 18, 2000. He split his first three seasons between the major and the minors before earning a full roster spot with the Tigers in 2002. Twins and Rays Following the 2004 season Munson was released by the Tigers and signed with the Minnesota Twins on January 18, 2005. Prior to the start of the 2005 season he was released by the Twins and signed with the then named Tampa Bay Devil Rays on April 3, 2005. He played only 11 games with the Rays in 2005, then was released following the season. Houston Astros On December 22, 2005, Munson signed with the Houston Astros. He again split his time between the Astros and the minors, averaging 50 games in the majors each season. Milwaukee Brewers Munson was claimed off of waivers by the Milwaukee Brewers on October 15, 2007. Prior to the start of the 2008 season, he was assigned to the Brewers AAA affiliate in Nashville.
