Endeavor Launch March 11, 2008
The Space Shuttle Endeavour launched in the early hours of March 11, 2008. The primary goal of the mission was to deliver the Japanese Kibo lab and a two-armed Canadian robot to the International Space Station. The mission lasted 15 days and was the longest Space Station assembly mission to date.1

Building the ISS
The Space Shuttle is expected to be retired by 2010. In the meantime, nine additional missions, plus two possible contingency missions, must be scheduled to complete the construction of the International Space Station.1The shuttle's replacement will not be online until at least 2014.2
